Travel & Lifestyle – Discovering Lookout Rooftop and Bar at The Envoy Hotel in Boston
If you’re a fan of rooftop bars, this one is definitely for you! One of the Innovation District’s hottest spots is the Rooftop Lookout and bar at the Envoy Hotel, in the heart of downtown Boston. The originality and hospitality showcased is hard to match. Coined as visionary thinking, mixed with maverick mojo, the Lookout’s bold character oozes class, community and comfort.
The main theme at The Envoy Hotel is innovation and design. This is quite evident throughout its lobby and rooms, as well as the restaurants and amenities. The rooftop bar is an extension of this, as well as the other in-house restaurants, state-of-the-art fitness center, business workstations (and printers) in the lobby, USB charging ports, and outlets throughout nearly all common areas. There’s even a virtual pool table to top it all off.
The summer is the time to enjoy the outdoors in Boston. That’s why you need to plan this trip ahead of time. The Lookout Rooftop and Bar is closed during the winter months; call ahead to confirm on its schedule. Although it just opened in mid-2015, the Lookout has rapidly become one of Boston’s waterfront area premier rooftop bar. Typically open from 5pm to midnight, the spot offers beautiful skyline and harbor views. Small bites include a hummus platter, shrimp cocktail, spinach dip with chips, and a house recipe for spicy nuts.
Drinks include beer, cocktails, gin, vodka, rum, tequila, whiskey, and more. The menu changes rather often, so checking with the front desk, or taking a trip up to check out the menu is a great idea upon first arrival. Come for the view and stay for the drinks.
The panoramic views of the Boston skyline are hard to match within the area. The dramatic décor at The Envoy Hotel fits right into the grand feel, with large, over-sized chandeliers greeting guests in the lobby. Guests have commented that the Lookout is the “best view of Boston with drinks, “a trendy place with great views,” and “a great people watching spot with fun cocktails”.
For start-up businesses in the area and traveling entrepreneurs, it makes a great late night snack and cocktails spot, or a place to stop in before heading out to the clubs in Boston.
As the summer is coming to an end, you may want to plan your visit for next year. If you go, let me know. We may coincide there and have a chance to spend some time discussing new business ideas overlooking the beautiful Boston skyline.
